Making a fashion statement! Jessica Chastain brightens her black suit with turquoise drop earrings as she sees in 2013

And who can doubt that Jessica Chastain - star of the most talked about movie of the moment, Zero Dark Thirty - does?
After all, 2013 is likely to be the best year yet for the 35-year-old (we're talking the high likelihood of an Oscar).

The omens are good; Jessica was born in the Chinese year of the Snake which will slither around again on February 10th this year.
This time around it's the Water Snake, and though Chastain was born under 1977's fire serpent... she hasn't allowed the wet and cold weather in New York to put her flame out.
As usual Jessica looked radiant as she made her way to her Broadway performance of The Heiress.
She opted for a classic black suit accented with a stunning statement pair of turquoise drop earrings that highlighted the porcelain luminosity of her gorgeous face.

It seems nothing can dampen the star’s spirits after she was nominated for a best actress Golden Globe for her role in Zero Dark Thirty.

Many critics have hailed Jessica's 'powerfully controlled performance' as a CIA agent in the midst of the otherwise male-dominated cast.
However, critics have been divided about Jessica's Broadway debut, with some declaring it 'close to perfect' while others called it 'underpowered,' lamenting Chastain's 'inconsistency of characterisation.'

Next year, Jessica will appear in the horror film Mama and she'll co-star with James McAvoy in the two his-and-her dramas, The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby.

She's also planning on taking a well-deserved extended vacation after her play closes on February 10.
'It's a three-hour play, plus it takes me an hour to put on a prosthetic and all this stuff, so four hours, plus I sign at the door afterwards for half an hour, so four and a half hours for every show I have,' the actress recently told Vulture.
'At a certain point, I need to go into a room by myself, and be like, What do I like to do with my spare time? [Laughs]. Like Maya does at the end of [Zero Dark Thirty]. They ask her, "Where do you want to go?" and I don't have an answer for that. '
