Make Beautiful Bead Bracelets At Home

You stop by the store and pick up a bead bracelet for the outfit that you are going to wear tomorrow. Same thing for the party this upcoming weekend. Of course it becomes hard to find an exact match with the clothing you are going to wear and prices just seem to be going up at the stores. Is there an alternative. Yes, there is. You can start making your own bead bracelets at home. In fact, if you get into making bead bracelets, you will probably find yourself making your own earrings, necklaces, pendants, and more. With beads and beading, the fun part is in doing it yourself.

So what does it take to start making your own bead bracelets? I always recommend starting with a pattern or design. If you are anything like me (a touch on the non-creative side) then you will want to pick up a bead magazine or head over to your local craft or bead store for ideas. If you are still coming up with nothing, just do a search on the internet for bead bracelets and you will come up with designs that you can replicate.

Will you be using glass beads, plastic, wood, or even your very own handmade clay beads to make your bead bracelets? Choices are virtually unlimited. One other quick tip that I would like to add. If you are anything like me, you like to take pictures of your creations. Well, not everyone but the one's that you are proud of. So what I do is to buy a background that I can place on my kitchen table which not only allows me to easily see the beads but will eventually serve as the background for a picture or two. Black, red, blue, and white are my favorite colors for the background.
Here are the supplies that you will need:
Background
Project design
Type/Size of beads
Number of beads
Bead (wire or elastic)
Crimps
Clasps
Pliers for crimping
Bead organizer (optional)
Place all of the above on top of the background. That way your materials are all within arms length reach. Make sure to string your beads one at a time to avoid any kinks in your bead line. A bead stopper can help you to keep the beads in place. If you've ever slid beads on the line to only watch them fall off the other end, you'll know what I mean. Use a crimp near both ends of the line to keep the beads in place. Finally, add the clasp. That is how you make bead bracelets.
